New Coiffeur

Ok, kids, so how do you like it!?

It's a bit of a blurry pic, but the only one that's been taken so far of my 'new-do' !

Posted by PicasaI can't begin to tell you how much fun and easy it is ! Also, I can't begin to tell you that someone should take the scissor and razor cutter away from me before I am completely bald! Going to start applying hi-lights this week and then go to my usual hair stylist and show her and find out if I did a good job. She'll likely wring my neck !! HA!
However, according to an job-appitude test so of thing I took many years ago, I learned that I would be happy as a hair stylist, or a fur designer (??>>yikes !!) So, there you have it !
Promise to get better pics taken soon !

Ok, so Rosemarie was "Tagged" and her challange was to go to her picture folder and chose the 6th folder and then from there chose the 6th picture. And then tell a stroy about it.
So.... here's mine!
Obviously it is not a photo.
It is an image I took from Google images in order to write a a story about my neighbor's cat and Elliot fighting to the death and Elliot ruling as the Supreme Pussycat for all the World to see!!
And, that's my story!
MEOW!!

Elliot and His Search for the Fountain of Youth

And, so... the pussycat controls !

The pussycat is acting a bit more than just strange.

The pussycat is going on 17 years ( sortta kindda about 90 ! )

The pussycat can be found mostly in the bath tub about two feet away from the faucet.

The pussycat just stands there, in the same exact position, a complete, perfect pussycat stand....

I can't say for how long he does this, however, to me, it seems like hours at a time, until he is located there, standing in full attention stance! It's baffling and quite unsettling to wake up in the early hours of the night (like, for instance, now....... just needing to pee and well, you know) and find Elliot just standing at the lower end of the big old bath tub, not knowing how long he's been there.

And, so, I'm up and about and writing about this.

He desires water only that comes from the faucet now...

I can't tear my hair out...it's been cut way too short!

However, I am very uncomfortable with Elliot being in the bath tub all the time.

Many years ago I was given two precious kittens, Lauren and Bogey. Bogey died from distemper at maybe 7 months old. Bogey could always be found in the bathtub. I think it is probably because he liked the cool temperature and it soothed his fever. It was a very, very sad time to say goodbye to a baby pussycat.

So... one could only imagine why I am disturbed when I see Elliot lingering in the bathtub for what seems like hours at a time.

I hold my breath.

Please Stand By

Most of my life I feel like I should just stand by and wait and see.

Somehow as a child I was told to do this.

Of course, it didn't help that the most worshipped thing in the home, the mighty TV, would have pauses with a sign like this telling us to Please Stand By...
and , I've got to tell ya...
we actually obeyed!
At least one of us would get up and stand next to the TV, standing by, just to make sure that we were doing what we were told ! Ahh, those nuns really hooked us!

So, here I've been, standing by, standing by. standing by....

for what??

Day One

Our 44th President now sits in the Oval Office.
Our country had a celebration yesterday.

I experienced a moment of tears during the "Oath Of Office" and during
President Obama's Inaugural Speech.
I found myself with my fingers to my lips as he spoke.
Like a child, I felt.

However, we MUST remember that he is our President, not our Messiah.

I find myself in prayer more often than usual these days.
We, as a Nation, must feel that we are finally one and whole and that
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr's "I HAVE A DREAM" speech has been fulfilled.

It's a bit eerie to me, a bit surreal and completely; truly by definition, wonderful!

We, The People, have called out our desire for change. Whether it is the fact that Americans elected an African descendant, or, that he is against the war in Iraq, or any of many other reasons, the whole world is taking a new look at The United States of America and much of the faith and trust that we have lost in the last 6 years has been restored. Now it is up to our President Obama and the American people to do the right thing with that renewed prestige.

Day 1, as it were.
