New Coiffeur

Ok, kids, so how do you like it!?

It's a bit of a blurry pic, but the only one that's been taken so far of my 'new-do' !

Posted by PicasaI can't begin to tell you how much fun and easy it is ! Also, I can't begin to tell you that someone should take the scissor and razor cutter away from me before I am completely bald! Going to start applying hi-lights this week and then go to my usual hair stylist and show her and find out if I did a good job. She'll likely wring my neck !! HA!
However, according to an job-appitude test so of thing I took many years ago, I learned that I would be happy as a hair stylist, or a fur designer (??>>yikes !!) So, there you have it !
Promise to get better pics taken soon !

Ok, so Rosemarie was "Tagged" and her challange was to go to her picture folder and chose the 6th folder and then from there chose the 6th picture. And then tell a stroy about it.
So.... here's mine!
Obviously it is not a photo.
It is an image I took from Google images in order to write a a story about my neighbor's cat and Elliot fighting to the death and Elliot ruling as the Supreme Pussycat for all the World to see!!
And, that's my story!
MEOW!!

Elliot and His Search for the Fountain of Youth

And, so... the pussycat controls !

The pussycat is acting a bit more than just strange.

The pussycat is going on 17 years ( sortta kindda about 90 ! )

The pussycat can be found mostly in the bath tub about two feet away from the faucet.

The pussycat just stands there, in the same exact position, a complete, perfect pussycat stand....

I can't say for how long he does this, however, to me, it seems like hours at a time, until he is located there, standing in full attention stance! It's baffling and quite unsettling to wake up in the early hours of the night (like, for instance, now....... just needing to pee and well, you know) and find Elliot just standing at the lower end of the big old bath tub, not knowing how long he's been there.

And, so, I'm up and about and writing about this.

He desires water only that comes from the faucet now...

I can't tear my hair out...it's been cut way too short!

However, I am very uncomfortable with Elliot being in the bath tub all the time.

Many years ago I was given two precious kittens, Lauren and Bogey. Bogey died from distemper at maybe 7 months old. Bogey could always be found in the bathtub. I think it is probably because he liked the cool temperature and it soothed his fever. It was a very, very sad time to say goodbye to a baby pussycat.

So... one could only imagine why I am disturbed when I see Elliot lingering in the bathtub for what seems like hours at a time.

I hold my breath.

Please Stand By

Most of my life I feel like I should just stand by and wait and see.

Somehow as a child I was told to do this.

Of course, it didn't help that the most worshipped thing in the home, the mighty TV, would have pauses with a sign like this telling us to Please Stand By...
and , I've got to tell ya...
we actually obeyed!
At least one of us would get up and stand next to the TV, standing by, just to make sure that we were doing what we were told ! Ahh, those nuns really hooked us!

So, here I've been, standing by, standing by. standing by....

for what??

Day One

Our 44th President now sits in the Oval Office.
Our country had a celebration yesterday.

I experienced a moment of tears during the "Oath Of Office" and during
President Obama's Inaugural Speech.
I found myself with my fingers to my lips as he spoke.
Like a child, I felt.

However, we MUST remember that he is our President, not our Messiah.

I find myself in prayer more often than usual these days.
We, as a Nation, must feel that we are finally one and whole and that
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr's "I HAVE A DREAM" speech has been fulfilled.

It's a bit eerie to me, a bit surreal and completely; truly by definition, wonderful!

We, The People, have called out our desire for change. Whether it is the fact that Americans elected an African descendant, or, that he is against the war in Iraq, or any of many other reasons, the whole world is taking a new look at The United States of America and much of the faith and trust that we have lost in the last 6 years has been restored. Now it is up to our President Obama and the American people to do the right thing with that renewed prestige.

Day 1, as it were.

For the Woman who has EVERYTHING, something so special was given to her...

Having to go back to work the day after Christmas can be a drag.
However, for me, it wasn't.
I had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner with four of my five siblings along with bro-in-law and boyfriend-outlaw (!) and it was delightful!
Arriving to work this morning was the usual "what did you get" thing bouncing around the office. Most of the women I work with are always showered with insanely expensive and sparkling gifts and I get to hear about them and/or see them all over their hands, wrists and necks.
I received my gift in the form of a reunion with my sister!
It shined beyond anything and was priceless!
However, the most incredible gift I heard about today was the one given to my co-worker, Mary.
Her family adopted a horse for her! Yes! Please click on the link to the site below for
Mylestone Farms and read about this wonderful place!
Mary is a true animal lover and her family hit the nail on the head with this gift for her! She needs for nothing material in this world. She is blown away by the ability to care for her horse and intends to now volunteer at the farm to care for her Margrit and all the other beautiful horses!
I did not know about Mylestone Farms until today.
Margrit

Although Margrit was certainly alive, it cannot be said that she had a life, for hers was spent tied to a tree. She was bred repeatedly, yet was never afforded the luxury of a barn, a shed, or any sort of shelter. She endured snow, hurricanes, thunderstorms, and scalding summer heat in one spot - tied to the same tree. And she gave birth in those conditions as well. Until her foals were sold, they endured the same fate ... tied to a different tree.
In her late 20's, Margrit is a red roan Appaloosa mare who was rescued, along with her filly, in February 2006 by some kind women who were able to take her in. Mylestone promised to take the mare as soon as she was able to travel if they couldn't find her a home. In that span of time, Margrit also miscarried yet another baby, a blessing according to the vet, who did not believe the mare would have survived the pregnancy and birth.
Margrit came to Mylestone July 2006. She needs to gain at least 200 pounds. She enjoys the human companionship she never knew, and we're hoping, that as soon as she is fully recovered, she will enjoy the companionship of other horses at the farm. Margrit's vet care and feed are costly, and your support would be greatly appreciated. Please
donate towards Margrit's care today, or sponsor her. She will be grateful, no doubt, for your caring.

here and her most recent photos here.

MERRY CHRISTMAS

A very Merry Christmas and a Blessed New Year to all!
This is Elliot ! Isn't he handsome?

This picture was taken several years ago at a time when I thought
it might be his last Christmas.
It may have been four years ago and he was of 12 years.
He is now 16 years young and going strong!
I thank God for this magnificant boy everyday.
He seems to get younger each year!
He has these liquid vitamins that he takes from an eye dropper
for the past couple of years.
He bolts into the kitchen and jumps up on the back of the chair like a Circus Kittie !!

Tah -Dah !!

Don't ya just love my crazy kitchen ??!
Anyway, it blows me away that Elliot can still do this!

He IS Super-Kittie!! And he loves hearing it !

So.......
with that said.....

Elliot and I would like to wish you all the Merriest and the Bestest !!

And to all a good night !

Love and Peace

I listen to WAWZ Star 99.1 FM each and every Monday - Friday as I am beginning my day. I spend my time listening as I shower and quite literally wash away the previous day and prepare for the day at hand. I enjoy the music I hear and carry it with me as I go along to my very stressful job. I maintain the melodies of praise that were the last songs I heard before turning off the radio and then off to work, and then, try to carry one or two melodies throughout the day.... but, it's not easy sometimes. Although, lately, I've been carrying a new song in my heart.

I have decided to Sponsor a World Vision Child from Ethiopia.

I would like you to meet Merema Kasso.
She lives with her parents and has one brother and one sister.
She is 8 years old and we share a birthday, September 14 !!
She is blessed to have both her parents.
Merema is in good health and helps out with the family farm. She is in primary school and has a love for science..... I am not surprised.... she's a Virgo.

I can see in her eyes that she has determination.

I ask that you say a prayer for her and the Kasso family.

Barack Obama, his family and Our United States of America
are about to enter a
Brave New World!
And...
I am walking directly behind him in full support!

I remember as a little girl when John Kennedy was elected
there was joy and jubilation!
My parents were so happy, especially my father...
An Irish Catholic in the White House !
Begorah!
This morning, as I tuned into GMA at 7:00 AM
and heard what I already knew in my heart was to be,
I had my jump for joy moment !

.... as the coffee was brewing!
Joy and Jubilation!
(except it was just in the kitchen, just me and the coffee pot, but this pic will do very nicely)
We will ALL have to work towards Mr. Obama's goals for us.
There are no free rides!
And, that's my opinion.
Shadobbie!

"You cannot help the poor, by destroying the rich. You cannot strengthen the weak, by weakening the strong. You cannot bring about prosperity, by discouraging thrift. You cannot lift the wage earner up, by pulling the wage payer down. You cannot further brotherhood of man, by inciting class hatred. You cannot build character and courage, by taking away men's initiative and independence. You cannot help men permanently, by doing for them what they could and should do for themselves."

3 Bloody hours!

I literally spent 3 hours working on a very, very great post ! Awwhhhh! It was a story about just another day here in Westfield, my apartment, my new neighbors, the common hallway, their cats, the Alpha cat struggle, Elliot, their cat, Sam (who Elliot will shred very soon), the whimpy guy next door, (Will ), his newly PhD'ed wife (Julia, who IS the voice of reason in that relationship) and, well... I wrote a real cool thing with great pics that I searched purposely for and, created a story with words and images, and, blimy.. I don't know what the f@*k I did, but, as I was trying to edit it, it went poof, and then gone !

I feel sooo Liza !

Damn it!

I have lots of really fun videos all stored here and there that I would like to share, but, sadly, am not all that savy when it comes to clicking here and there in order to share them
OK...I know, I know... I am not a cool computer chick.
However.... I am cool enough to ask for help ! So... HELP !!
Someone please explain it to me like I am a 3 year old and not dixlectic !!
You will be happy you did !
Thanks !
I really AM trying to keep the Blaugh fresh and new. However, I get myself bogged down by thoughts, ideas, creativity and then just say "EEEHHYYEEGGHHYY!!" , ya know!
Throughout any given and each day and I am struck by a fabulous idea for the Blaugh. I get all excited about it, I swear I do. I should likely just stop what I am doing and go directly to it and make it really cool. However... that darn job of mine gets in the way ! I am loaded with great ideas between 9 and 5 >>>> which is real coup for the docs who employ me. Too bad when I get home and I am pretty much burned out and read through all the cool things that I wrote down on post-its in my pockets (what a great name for a Blog!)... I am just plain tired and all I want is a nice dinner, a bath, fresh air and a pillow.
Yep... I am fountain of creativity! I really am.
So... tell ya what. I will go on a stream of consciousness rant every now and then with pics and all the trimmings.
I shall poise myself for a bit and then let it rip! Yippee!!

All MINE !!!!

So, what is all this craziness about the stock market and fear ? In the grand scheme of things, we hold on tight to the things we love and believe in. In the face of economic ruin and vast distrust in the averages, the Dow, the Stock Market and all sorts of other things (I'm just dropping words as if I know a thing or two about this CRAZY CRISIS! ) that we should be leary of, we simply must hold on tightly to what we believe our assests are. Me? I have about an extra 80 bucks of liquidity monthly, and I am damn proud of it all ! Yep! It's been my way of life pretty much all the time. So, to me, these days are just some ordinary days. While, yes, I have seen my 401K total drop several thousand dollars, all I can say is, ce la vie ! Good times are good and bad times aren't. Knowing who you are and where you came from and never being afraid to be poor is PRICELESS ! God bless the child who's got her own! Fearless!

OK, that's it for the TV commercials!
However, we are experiencing technical difficulties, please stand by !
